Canon AE-1 reviewPublished on: electronicsme.com If you are of the mindset that they just don’t make cameras like they used to, then the Canon AE-1 may just be your new best friend. Whether you are looking to add a new camera to your photography collection, or are looking for a quality camera to learn the basics on, then you won’t be disappointed with the AE-1. Manufactured from 1976 to 1984, the AE-1 was the first single-reflex lens (SLR) equipped with a microprocessor central processing unit. Known as one of the historically significant SLR’s of its time, not because of the technological first it contained, but for the fact that it sold quite well. Over five million units were sold, which was phenomenal for the era. Read more of this Canon AE-1 review? Read more reviews from electronicsme? With a 12.24 megapixel CMOS sensor, the advanced BIONZ image processing engine, and Super Steady Shot, Sony has brought a viable competitor to the table in the DSLR market. With many new features versus the Sony A100, it may be time to reconsider Sony and take a look at the A700. Pentax Optio E 50 reviewPublished on: electronicsme.com The 8.1 megapixel Pentax Optio E 50 with its 2.4” LCD screen, 3x zoom and multiple picture modes is a basic, point and shoot camera and is great for the casual user who just wants a simple camera to take pictures. Some other features include face detection, shake reduction technology, movie mode and a voice recorder to take notes with. There is also some in-camera framing options for photos; however, they may not be up to everyone’s liking. Read more of this Pentax Optio E 50 review? Read more reviews from electronicsme? Nikon Coolpix S600 reviewPublished on: electronicsme.com The hip Nikon Coolpix S600 is great in style and might earn you some ‘oohs!’ and ‘aahs!’ from friends, but it leaves a little to be desired when it comes to the guts of the camera. The 10 megapixel sensor is nice but unfortunately there is not a lot of options to help you utilize it leaving pictures simply looking okay. On a positive note, its small size makes it extremely portable, there is a large 2.7” LCD screen with decent viewfinder accuracy and vibration reduction to help with blurriness caused by motion. Still there is more to consider before making your purchase, so read on. Read more of this Nikon Coolpix S600 review? Read more reviews from electronicsme? Canon FS 100 reviewPublished on: electronicsme.com The new standard definition, flash memory, limited moving parts camcorder from Canon, the FS100, provides a lot of great options and a decent price. Though there are a wide variety of camcorders in the same field, the FS100 balances out the options to try and provide a great camcorder at a budget price. However, while some of the features are nice, in the end, don’t judge this camcorder by its nicely labeled box. It is standard definition, so though Canon has provided an impressive 37X optical zoom, but may be challenged, especially under low light. The 2.7” LCD screen, though a little grainy, makes up for it by being viewable even in direct sunlight. Weighing only 9.2 ounces, its light weight and ergonomic feel make it easy to record with. The included mic input is a nice touch; however, the wind filter is completely useless. Read more of this Canon FS 100 review? Read more reviews from electronicsme? Fujifilm FinePix S100fs ReviewPublished on: electronicsme.com So is the Fujifilm FinePix S100fs a DSLR? Well, on looks alone, you might think so, but actually, it is not. In saying that though, this is no standard digital camera either. It has many features that many of its counterparts do not such as a real lens with a manual zoom ring, RAW file capture, and a larger sensor. It has an 11.1 megapixel resolution and a long 14.3x optical zoom and due to its digital camera heritage you can see the live image in the LCD screen unlike with many DSLR counterparts. Other nice features include, face detection with automatic red eye removal, movie mode, preset scene modes, and a tilting 2.5” LCD screen. Read more of this Fujifilm FinePix S100fs Review?
