So I'm in the market for a fairly cheap printer in the $264-$512 range. I have worked with Makerbot printers before and found them to be relatively simple and easy to use but now I'm unable to use someone else's printers so I need a cheap effective printer that will also be compatible with a linux operating pc. Specifically I'm using LinuxMint and would very much appreciate a printer that I have control over which is why I'm not too enthused about the Da Vinci 1.0, other than obviously the simplicity and price. My question is: With a linux computer which 3D printer in my price range will be ideal that still allows me to be in control.

Keen to buy a printer.
The Robo 3d R1 plus looks great for performance, price and build area but I would prefer something that isn't so reliant on a pc to run. Any other obvious options? Many thanks. Mark.
