I have the elegant i5 smartband but it's unreliable.. I'm looking for a similar reliable model. I'm not a fitness freak. I just want a step counter, sleep monitor and notifications of text messages, calls and wattsapp. I'm looking at Fitbit alta and garmin vivo2. What do you recommend?

A:

Of those two options, Alta has wireless notifications built in.

I would like a smart band that I can take in the pool. Not water resistant. Something that can actually go in the pool with me.

Hi, I'd look at fitness trackers that specifically have a swim mode. Withings, Garmin, and Misfit all make waterproof fitness trackers that can go in the pool with you, and I know that Withings and Misfit models include swim tracking. I've personally owned a Garmin Vivofit 2 and wore it in the pool several times. Hope this helps!

I am wanting to buy something for my husband I that is a pedometer and has a heart beat rating. Not an over the top price though. Saw a Fitbit one that a nurse had tonight and I think it did only these two thigs, but I could have been wrong. Good advice welcome

Hi there, the Fitbit Flex does not include heart rate tracking. If you want heart rate tracking included with the wristband it's usually a little bit more expensive.

Here is an article comparing two heart rate tracking models:

You can also get some chest strap heart rate monitors (Polar has one) that can sync with a wristband, but it comes separately.

I would like to buy my first fitness tracker and I'm lost with all these different models and types. I would like one mainly to count the calories burnt during activities. Any suggestion would be most welcomed :)
