Q: We've had an hp officejet pro 8610 for a couple of years and love it. We currently have loads of ink (over $200 worth) and now the printer is acting up (printer head) and we can't seem to fix it. A discontinued NEW 8610 is about $200 while a new 8710 is about $120. It doesn't take the same ink, so that is our hesitation plus why is it cheaper? Is the 8710 not as good as the 8610?

Scan, Fax, and Photocopy

The four main functions of printers are: printing, scanning, photocopying, and faxing. Either your device will be print only, print/scan/copy, or an all-in-one printer that does printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. Note that scanning and copying almost always come together, since the hardware for these features overlaps significantly. Generally speaking, all-in-one printers are larger, so those with space constraints may find this to be an inconvenience. Additionally, printers with a fax feature are typically more expensive. It would be wise to only consider this feature if you plan to fax often. If not, you’ll be satisfied with a print/scan/copy device.

Does the HP office jet 3830 has all in one and mobile printing. It is not an InkJet. Do you have to take the ink program with the printer.
I wanted the envy 5540 all in one but were out and only by mail. I need asap.
The inkJet office jet, laser print and all those names confuse me. I have an envy HP 5660 and want something comparable. any suggestions don't want to spen an arm and a leg, it is for a student printing mobile.
