Questions about Motorola SBG6580

I want to replace the modem I'm renting, from Comcast. I need one with consistent speed and has two to four ports so I can hard wire my internet and Roku box. I prefer four ports. I've been looking at an Arris Surfboard SBG6580. I cannot spend a lot of money. Is Motorola SBG6580 at end of life for MN.
Would it be ok to buy a used one, and can I purchase a warranty for it?
Thanks.

I have 1 gigabit supported internet bundled with my rent, and I need to buy my own router and modem that support and take advantage of the 1 gigabit network. What router and modem or combo router/ modem would you recommend? I'm looking at the Motorola MG7540 and MG7550. Will either of these suffice?
