Netgear CM500 is a top selling option at the bottom of the price range. It's a #1 bestseller in modems category and has dozens of popular alternatives in the same price range, such as TP-LINK TD-8616 or Actiontec/Qwest PK5000 .

Netgear CM500 was released last year in March. We don't know any modems that are newer on the market.

Netgear CM500 is $39.10 cheaper than the average modem ($70).

I have 1 gigabit supported internet bundled with my rent, and I need to buy my own router and modem that support and take advantage of the 1 gigabit network. What router and modem or combo router/ modem would you recommend? I'm looking at the Motorola MG7540 and MG7550. Will either of these suffice?
