Neither Asus RT-AC3100 nor Netgear Nighthawk R7000 AC1900 were recommended by experts this month
On 5 Nov 2024 (25 days ago) we went through 74 Router expert endorsements , however neither Asus RT-AC3100 nor Netgear Nighthawk R7000 AC1900 were included in any of those recommendations. Since neither Router received a single endorsement, as far as expert recommendations go, it's technically a tie. We do, however, recommend taking a look at Asus ZenWiFi AX XT8 or other critically acclaimed Routers of this month.
For reference, Asus ZenWiFi AX XT8 received 2 endorsements this month, from How To Geek (16 Jul 2024) and TechRadar (28 Jun 2024).

- Decent range coverage thanks to Beamforming +.
- Full VPN and NAS capability, making it one of the best routers from Netgear.
- Features like guest networking, DMZ, NAT filtering, parental controls, and other access and content controls.
- Throughput at the 2.4GHz band is just okay.
- Making settings changes within the interface can take a while.
- Bridging in the Nighthawk is a sloppy affair.
