Neither ASUS RT-AC68U AC1900 nor Eero Home Wi-Fi System were recommended by experts this month
On 3 Jan 2025 (3 months ago) we went through 70 Router expert endorsements , however neither ASUS RT-AC68U AC1900 nor Eero Home Wi-Fi System were included in any of those recommendations. Since neither Router received a single endorsement, as far as expert recommendations go, it's technically a tie. We do, however, recommend taking a look at Netgear Orbi 970 or other critically acclaimed Routers of this month.
For reference, Netgear Orbi 970 received 2 endorsements this month, from Tom's Guide (15 Nov 2024) and Lifewire (25 Nov 2024).

The ASUS RT-AC68U (AC1900) is a decent router with an intuitive settings interface and easy-to-use features. However, there are cheaper models that perform similarly and offer better value, such as the NetGear Nighthawk AC1750 (R6700v2).

- Has beamforming capabilities to concentrate signal strength in specific areas.
- Allows for wireless reset and the ability to turn off LED indicator lights.
- cons
- Lacks MU-MIMO technology, making it a poor choice for households with many internet-connected devices.
- Average performance in both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz throughput tests.
- Not a great value compared to slightly cheaper models that perform similarly.

Eero may be the premiere Wi-Fi mesh system for the technology nut that wants the absolute most control over their network both from a performance and security standpoint.
