The reliable BX monitors get an update

The BX5 Carbon is a compact and affordable monitor that offers incredible value for its price. It has a bright and forward sound, with reasonable low frequency extension and improved bass response with the Acoustic Space setting.

+ pros

Solid support and incredible value for money over a decade of different incarnations.
Improved bass extension and Acoustic Space setting for better positioning near walls or in corners.
Good for critical balance elements such as vocals and balancing reverbs.

- cons

Light low-mids centred around the 300Hz mark, which can make the sound a bit roundness missing in sounds, particularly noticeable with voices and upper bass harmonics.
No HF trim or notched level control, which can make it a bit fatiguing at higher volumes.
Best at mid to quieter levels, which can make the light low-mid delivery more prominent, so some compensation may be needed.
