The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are a huge step up from the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live, offering better sound and microphone quality with multipoint pairing and spatial audio support. They don’t offer the same level of noise cancellation as over-ear headphones or the sound quality of high-end earbuds, but for their price they offer just enough of both to be competitive.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro rentroduces rubber tips to the Galaxy Buds line and, wouldn't you know it, have much better isolation because of it. These are solid premium true wireless earbuds for slightly less than much of the competition.

The Buds Pro feel great in your ears, sound better than any Samsung earbuds to date, and have convenient tricks to complement their decent noise cancellation. There’s still a place for the Galaxy Buds Plus if all you want are wireless earbuds with a battery that just goes and goes, and the Buds Live remain the better pick if you need environmental awareness at all times. But if you’re nabbing the Buds Pro as a preorder bonus for a new Galaxy S21, you should be more than satisfied.

The Galaxy Buds Pro promise much on paper, especially if you’re a Samsung fan, but their sound quality falls well short of the class leaders.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are good for commute and travel. They're well-built and don't leak too much audio, so you can enjoy your audio at high volumes without disturbing others around you. They also have a comfortable fit, and they're easily portable. However, their ANC struggles to cut down bass-range noise like bus or plane engine rumbles. They also have a fairly short continuous battery life and may need to be recharged during longer trips.

The Buds Pro earbuds are actually similar in design to the earlier Galaxy Buds Plus and sport traditional rubber eartips, so they should fit perfectly in most users' ears. And to make sure of it, out of the box Samsung has included three sizes of eartips to choose from – small, medium and large.

They are not cheap, costing £219, which puts them in the top end of the market, beating Apple’s AirPods Pro on sound but falling short of the Jabra Elite 85t on noise-cancelling. If other Samsung earbuds are any indication, you should be able to find them with a reasonable discount if you shop around in the near future.

Even with so many great earbuds available these days, these are the best Pro model I've found.

With the Buds Pro, Samsung made almost every necessary improvement over the Buds Plus — better sound, more comfortable fit, improved design, sweat-resistant waterproofing, and, best of all, active noise cancelation that's pretty damn good. These are among the best wireless earbuds you can buy right now.
