Water Resistance

Do you plan to take your speaker outside? To the beach? To the pool? In the shower? Then you definitely need to verify the level of water resistance before purchasing. Speakers range from not being able to handle even a drop of water to being able to be fully submerged in water for several minutes. You can tell the water resistance by the IP rating—the higher the rating, the more resistant the speaker is to the elements. For reference, the first digit refers to dust protection and the second digit refers to water protection. It reads as: IP68. Anything higher than IP66 will be dust- and splash-proof, meaning it can handle some contact with water, but cannot be fully submerged or soaked.

Battery

Battery life for Bluetooth speakers is measured in milliampere hours (mAh). Manufacturers will report the battery life of a speaker in the average number of hours it takes to empty from a full charge. Keep in mind this number is based on medium levels of usage. If you play the speaker on full volume, it will drain the battery faster. Some specialty features like using the speaker to charge your phone or casting an LED light show will also drain the battery faster. The manufacturer reported number is just an estimate, and may be slightly different based on your usage.

It’s also important to consider is the type of battery. Rechargeable lithium-ion (LI-ion) batters are ideal, but some speakers only take standard or rechargeable AA/AAA/C/D batteries. You may even find Bluetooth speakers that recharge via solar power—great for outdoor use!

which one to buy
OontZ Angle 3 Bluetooth Speaker or jbl flip 4
Related: Cambridge Oontz Angle 3, JBL Flip 4, Portable Bluetooth Speakers | Submitted by PAWAN 57 days ago
A:

It really depends on what you’re looking for in a Bluetooth speaker. The Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 is a much lighter and portable speaker, has two precision neodymium drivers, and bass radiator (this enhances the bass output). It has 10 watts of power output, and is water resistant with an IPX5 rating (protection from small water jets). On the other hand the JBL Flip 4 has 16 watts, with two 40mm transducers, is very durable, weighs about 1.1 pounds, and is also waterproof, but with an IPX7 rating (this allows for up to 1 meter of immersion). For a smaller, powerful design the OontZ Angle 3 bluetooth speaker is a good choice. For a heavy duty power output, and resilient design the JBL Flip 4 would be the better option.

It of course depends on your price range, and technical preference. Between the two you have chosen to compare, one is significantly cheaper than the other. The Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 has a great sound quality, yet keeping a realistic, and economic approach to their pricing. It has a 10W output with two neodymium driver, and a bass radiator. The JBL Flip 3 is a bit more expensive, but also has more power than the Cambridge Oontz Angle 3. It has a 16W output with dual 1.57in transducers, giving it a bit more edge over than cambridge, while only having about 2 hours less of battery life to the cambridge. If I am to personally recommend a portable speaker for the ipod I would go with the UE Boom 2. I personally use it. It has a powerful battery life that will give you continuous music for 15 hours, is water resistant, and delivers quality sound for a small speaker (maximum sound level of 90 dBA).

Hello! Here is a blog post directly comparing these two products:
https://reviewfinder.com/blog/anker-soundcore-dual-driver-vs-cambridge-oontz-angle-3-differences-reviews-pros-and-cons-compared/

Overall, the Angle 3 is better for use outdoors, because it is more durable and water resistant. But the Soundcore has better battery life, Bluetooth range, and slightly better sound quality. So it depends on what you will use it for.
A:

The Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 has IPX5 water resistance (protection from small water jets), a 12-hour battery life, two precision neodymium drivers, a bass radiator, and a power output of 10W. This device produces quality sound for a very reasonable price. The Anker SoundCore has a batter life of one entire day, a subwoofer, dual high-performance 3-watt drivers, and a power output of 6 watts. You may find the sound quality to be similar to the Cambridge Oontz Angle 3, however this device can last twice as long on one charge. It also has NFC support, unlike the Oontz Angle 3. The downside to this is that the Anker SoundCore is more than three times the cost.

All in all, if you want something with spectacular battery life then the Anker SoundCore would be the logical choice, but if you are on a stricter budget and want water resistance then the Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 would be better for you.

It depends on what sort of detail your'e in search of. The Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 offers IPX5 water resistance, has a 12-hour battery life, and only weighs 9 ounces. It is equipped with two precision neodymium drivers, a bass radiator, and has a 10W power output. This device is particularly wonderful when it comes to its portability. The VAVA Voom 21 has a 10-hour battery life, and a power bank to charge devices on the go. It's equipped with a 10w subwoofer, two 5w drivers, two 5w passive radiators, and has a power output of 20 watts. This device has particularly fantastic sound quality, and its bass has received high praise. So if you want something light weight, economically priced, and that has a decent battery life, then the Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 would be a great choice, but if you want something with an impressive bass, and overall sound quality, then the VAVA Voom 21 would be the wiser choice.

How does the Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 compare to JBL Flip 3?

Oontz angle 3 is okay...not that impressive for me but it is loud and powerful...then i bought the flip 3 and all i can say is wow! The sound is way way better than oontz angle 3.. go for JBL Flip 3!

A:

The Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 has two precision neodymium drivers, a bass radiator, has 12 hours of battery life, and a power output of 10 watts, all at a very affordable price. The JBL Flip 3 has IPX4 water resistance, 10-hours of battery life, dual 1.57in transducers, and a power output of 16 watts. It also contains many features that the Oontz Angle 3 does not support, such as airplay, fm radio, and connecting to multiple devices at the same time. But, the Oontz Angle 3 is considerably cheaper.

oontz angle 3..no regrets!

A:

They are both fairly good devices when it comes to sound quality. The JBL Flip 3 is IPX4 water resistant (splash proof), has dual 1.57in transducers, and has a power output of 16W. The Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 is IPX5 water resistant (protects from small water jets, such as super soakers), has two precision neodymium drivers, a bass radiator, and a power output of 10W.

The Cambridge may be a better choice if you're looking for something with slightly less power out, but a bit more economically priced, lighter weight, and slightly more water resistant. The JBL Flip 3 would be a better choice if you want to go louder in volume without sound degradation, and have a few extra features such as, airplay, and fm radio.

I'm confused to pick between Anker Soundcore, Dknight Magicbox II, and Oontz angle 3
Trying to get speaker under $50
Thanks
A:

The DKnight Magicbox weighs 10 ounces, and has an ultra small design. It is equipped with a 10W driver, has a 10W power output, and a 12-hour battery life. This is a great device to have if you are looking for a speaker that can fit in a backpack, suitcase, or a quick travel bag. One of its downsides is that it’s on the higher cost spectrum considering its power output.

The Anker SoundCore weighs 9.5 ounces, has a 24-hour battery life, is equipped with two dual high-performance 3W drivers, and has a power output of 6W. This device is particularly great if you want a lightweight device that has amazing battery life.

The Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 has IPX5 water resistance (protection from small water jets), a 12-hour battery, two precision neodymium drivers, a bass radiator, and has a power output of 10W. This is a great device to have if you want something lightweight, and water resistant at a fair price.

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a portable bluetooth speaker. I'm not experienced with audio speakers, so I'd like some help. A friend recommended the JBL Go and from looking around on Amazon, I thought the Oontz Angle 3 is good. Can you tell me your opinion please? Thanks!
Related: Cambridge Oontz Angle 3, JBL Pulse 2, Portable Bluetooth Speakers | Submitted by anonymous 420 days ago
A:

The JBL Go is indeed a neat device if you want a very small, lightweight device (4.586 ounces). It has one 40 mm transducer, a 5-hour battery life, and a power output of 3W. This is sort of on the lower spectrum of wattage, but its signal to noise ratio is amazingly 80 dB. The Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 has a 12-hour battery life, two precision neodymium drivers, a bass radiator, and a power output of 10W. I believe you'll get much better sound quality from the Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 at the cost of it weighing about 4 ounces more than the JBL GO. I noticed you also listed the JBL Pulse 2 in related, and I should point out this is a much heavier device in comparison to the others, but also has much more power. Not only does it give you cool colors for parties, but is equipped with two full-range drivers, at a 16W output. All in all, if you want something to party with that can get loud, and produce lights then the JBL Pulse 2 would be a great choice. If your looking for something as small as you can go then the JBL GO would be the right choice. If you want to sort of meet in the middle then the Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 would definitely be a wise choice.

I'm looking at these 3 speakers. I was wondering which one has the best sound quality
A:

The Altec Lansing LifeJacket is designed more for its water resistance. It can float on water, and is very durable, but it’s rather huge and heavy. It has two subwoofers, two neodymium woofers, two tweeters, and two passive radiators. Unfortunately even with that many drivers you may find some issues with its sound quality once you pass half of its maximum volume level. The digital signal processing used by the Altec Lansing LifeJacket is not very subtle. It tries to prevent distortion upon reaching high volume levels by limiting the dynamic peaks of louder sections within the tracks, particularly tracks with lots of bass. This causes the sound to dip in volume when things are loud, and rise drastically during quiet moments. The JBL Charge 3 has a more “all around” sort of quality to it because its easy to carry around, water resistant, and charges other devices. It has two 50 mm transducers, and has a power output of 20 watts. Its sound quality is actually quite impressive, and you wont find the same sort of volume dips with this device. The Anker SoundCore is overall a much less powerful device, but also small, lightweight, and economical. It has dual high-performance 3W drivers, and a power output of 6W. Unfortunately, it has absolutely no water resistance. All in all, I would say when it comes to sound quality, you may find the JBL Charge 3 to have the richer, higher quality sound.

Hi, I had a JBL Pulse 2 for over a year and so far it's been excellent. Very portable and good sound.

A:

The JBL Pulse 2 has a lot of cool features. It has two full-range drivers with a 16W power output, a 10-hour battery life, is IPX4 water resistant (splash proof), and has a resilient design. It features a noise, and echo-cancelling speakerphone, which will keep your phone calls nice, and clear. It offers sensational sound with an interactive light show, and its splash proof design enables the JBL Pulse 2 to light up any event with high quality sound.

It sounds like the perfect speaker for you would be the VAVA Voom 21. It has a 10W subwoofer, two 5W drivers, along with two passive radiators, which will work fantastic for parties. It is also aptX enabled, so you will have the ability to stream high-quality audio without compromising the integrity of the sound.

i'd like to have a portable Bluetooth speaker with a good bass and be able to sound loud at least in a drawing room. which one should i go for?
the Sb520 or the SB571 ?
Related: SoundBot SB571, SoundBot SB520, Portable Bluetooth Speakers | Submitted by Dhiraj 32 days ago
A:

When it comes to bass you’ll find better quality in the SoundBot SB520 because it has two 50mm premium drivers, as opposed to the two 40mm premium drivers the SoundBot SB571 has. That being said, the SB520 has a lower frequency, and watt output. The SB571 has 12 watts, with a frequency range of 2.4-2.48GHz, while the SB520 has 10 watts, with a frequency range of 60HZ-18KHZ. So the SB571 can get louder, but the SB520 has bigger drivers for the bass. The SB520 will be more than sufficiently loud for a drawing room.
