Water Resistance

Speakers range from not being able to handle even a drop of water to being able to be fully submerged in water for several minutes. Do you plan to take your speaker outside? To the beach? To the pool? In the shower? Then you definitely need to verify the level of water resistance before purchasing. You can tell the water resistance by the IP rating—the higher the rating, the more resistant the speaker is to the elements. For reference, the first digit refers to dust protection and the second digit refers to water protection. It reads as: IP68. Anything higher than IP66 will be dust- and splash-proof, meaning it can handle some contact with water, but cannot be fully submerged or soaked.

Battery life for Bluetooth speakers is measured in milliampere hours (mAh). Manufacturers will report the battery life of a speaker in the average number of hours it takes to empty from a full charge. Keep in mind this number is based on medium levels of usage. If you play the speaker on full volume, it will drain the battery faster. Some specialty features like using the speaker to charge your phone or casting an LED light show will also drain the battery faster. The manufacturer reported number is just an estimate, and may be slightly different based on your usage.

It’s also important to consider is the type of battery. Rechargeable lithium-ion (LI-ion) batters are ideal, but some speakers only take standard or rechargeable AA/AAA/C/D batteries. You may even find Bluetooth speakers that recharge via solar power—great for outdoor use!

Oontz angle 3 ultra or ue boom 2? (for a College student in a dorm hall)
Related: UE Boom 2, Cambridge Oontz Angle 3, Portable Bluetooth Speakers | Submitted by Angela 174 days ago

They are both pretty good. The Cambridge OontZ Angle 3 Plus has great quality sound, at a very low price. Its IPX5 water resistant (protection from small water jets) has features a mid-range driver, a passive radiator, and a tweeter driver. It can run for up to 8 hours and has 10 watts of power output. Its downside is that it has no near field communication (NFC).

The UE Boom 2 has a fairly loud maximum volume and great sound quality, but the quality will diminish when you actually attempt to hit maximum volumes. It has 15 hours of battery life, has two full-range drivers and is IPX7 water resistant (up to 1 meter of immersion), and has NFC capability.

So, I would probably go with the UE Boom 2 if you plan to take it to pool parties, want something that can safely go underwater, and want something with a long lasting battery. If you plan to keep it strictly in your dorm room, want a bluetooth speaker at a much lower price, but still preserving quality sound, and still receiving some water resistance, then the Cambridge OontZ Angle 3 Plus would be a fair choice.

OontZ Angle 3 Bluetooth Speaker or jbl flip 4
Related: Cambridge Oontz Angle 3, JBL Flip 4, Portable Bluetooth Speakers | Submitted by PAWAN 240 days ago

It really depends on what you’re looking for in a Bluetooth speaker. The Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 is a much lighter and portable speaker, has two precision neodymium drivers, and bass radiator (this enhances the bass output). It has 10 watts of power output, and is water resistant with an IPX5 rating (protection from small water jets). On the other hand the JBL Flip 4 has 16 watts, with two 40mm transducers, is very durable, weighs about 1.1 pounds, and is also waterproof, but with an IPX7 rating (this allows for up to 1 meter of immersion). For a smaller, powerful design the OontZ Angle 3 bluetooth speaker is a good choice. For a heavy duty power output, and resilient design the JBL Flip 4 would be the better option.

It of course depends on your price range, and technical preference. Between the two you have chosen to compare, one is significantly cheaper than the other. The Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 has a great sound quality, yet keeping a realistic, and economic approach to their pricing. It has a 10W output with two neodymium driver, and a bass radiator. The JBL Flip 3 is a bit more expensive, but also has more power than the Cambridge Oontz Angle 3. It has a 16W output with dual 1.57in transducers, giving it a bit more edge over than cambridge, while only having about 2 hours less of battery life to the cambridge. If I am to personally recommend a portable speaker for the ipod I would go with the UE Boom 2. I personally use it. It has a powerful battery life that will give you continuous music for 15 hours, is water resistant, and delivers quality sound for a small speaker (maximum sound level of 90 dBA).

hi im a little confused here of what im going to choose between Anker Soundcore and Oontz Angle 3. can you enlighten me? Thanks

Hello! Here is a blog post directly comparing these two products:

Overall, the Angle 3 is better for use outdoors, because it is more durable and water resistant. But the Soundcore has better battery life, Bluetooth range, and slightly better sound quality. So it depends on what you will use it for.

The Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 has IPX5 water resistance (protection from small water jets), a 12-hour battery life, two precision neodymium drivers, a bass radiator, and a power output of 10W. This device produces quality sound for a very reasonable price. The Anker SoundCore has a batter life of one entire day, a subwoofer, dual high-performance 3-watt drivers, and a power output of 6 watts. You may find the sound quality to be similar to the Cambridge Oontz Angle 3, however this device can last twice as long on one charge. It also has NFC support, unlike the Oontz Angle 3. The downside to this is that the Anker SoundCore is more than three times the cost.

All in all, if you want something with spectacular battery life then the Anker SoundCore would be the logical choice, but if you are on a stricter budget and want water resistance then the Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 would be better for you.

Oontz or Vava
Related: Cambridge Oontz Angle 3, VAVA Voom 21, Portable Bluetooth Speakers | Submitted by anonymous 520 days ago

It depends on what sort of detail your'e in search of. The Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 offers IPX5 water resistance, has a 12-hour battery life, and only weighs 9 ounces. It is equipped with two precision neodymium drivers, a bass radiator, and has a 10W power output. This device is particularly wonderful when it comes to its portability. The VAVA Voom 21 has a 10-hour battery life, and a power bank to charge devices on the go. It's equipped with a 10w subwoofer, two 5w drivers, two 5w passive radiators, and has a power output of 20 watts. This device has particularly fantastic sound quality, and its bass has received high praise. So if you want something light weight, economically priced, and that has a decent battery life, then the Cambridge Oontz Angle 3 would be a great choice, but if you want something with an impressive bass, and overall sound quality, then the VAVA Voom 21 would be the wiser choice.

What is the best Bluetooth speaker Bose Soundlink Revole, UE Boom 2 or a Fugoo Sport. I want a good Bluetooth speaker and these are the three that come up the most on most reviews.
Related: UE Boom, Bose SoundLink Revolve, Portable Bluetooth Speakers | Submitted by anonymous 110 days ago

They all have their pros, and cons, so it ultimately boils down to what is right for you, and your needs.

The UE Boom is a great choice if you want a bluetooth speaker with an exceptional battery life (up to 15 hours). It features two 1.5 inch full range drivers, has a power output of 3 watts, and is IPX4 splash proof. This is not a speaker if you seek to go to loud volumes, as it only offers a 3 watt output, but definitely a great speaker if you want a relaxing volume level, and a quality durable build.

You will find the Bose SoundLink Revolve is IPX4 water resistant (splash proof), has a durable design, a 12 hour battery life, and dual passive radiators. This speaker can reach louder volumes and is a nice choice if you want something that's built to last The exact watt output is unknown because bose tend to never list the watt output (and thus they cannot be exactly compared), but it's a safe bet it will not disappoint in terms of volume and clarity, as this is what the brand is known for.

The Fugoo Go Anywhere Speaker (Fugoo Sport) is very affordable in comparison. It has an IP67 water resistant rating (meaning that it can be submerged). a 12 watt output, a 10 hour battery life (40 hours at half volume), and dual-full range drivers, along with dual bass radiators. This is an ideal choice if you wish to save some money, but still want a decent power output. It’s compact, easy to carry around, and reaches about 95 decibels. However, note that at high volumes the Fugoo speaker tends to distort the sound and will not sound as clear.

I am more of a bassy songs listener , i loved the design of marshall But looking at the price difference and extra feature of being as a powerbank by xtreme is very cool. which one should I buy
Related: Marshall Kilburn, JBL Xtreme, Portable Bluetooth Speakers | Submitted by anonymous 130 days ago

Both speakers have exceptional sound quality, however you’ll find that the Marshall Kilburn is able to go louder. It has a 70 watt power output in comparison to the JBL Xtreme’s 40 watts. That does not mean the JBL Xtreme can’t get very loud, it just means the Marshall can probably handle higher volume levels. That being said, the JBL certainly has a lot more features than the marshal, such as its power bank feature, water resistance, and its hands-free speakerphone functionality.

So, it’s really about what’s more important to you. Both have subwoofers, and decent drivers. The xtreme has 2 subwoofers, but they’re smaller than the kilburns 4 inch woofer. The xtreme is definitely a good choice when it comes to money value, and what you’re getting out of it. If you plan to be out, and on the go with your speaker then I believe the xtreme would be the better choice. If you want something strictly for home use then I would suggest the Marshall Kilburn.

Which is having more performance
Related: JBL Flip 3, SoundBot SB571, Portable Bluetooth Speakers | Submitted by Joobin 133 days ago

It ultimately depends on what type of performance you’re aiming for. Are you looking for something with better bass? Or perhaps something that has a lot of features?

The JBL Flip 3 is a great choice if you want something that has a well-rounded assortment of features, and a larger scale of use. It's significantly more expensive than the soundbot, but with fair reason. It has dual 1.57in transducers, with a 16 watt power output. It has IPX4 water resistance (making it splash-proof, and a great pool party option), a 10 hour battery life, and a very durable design. It has the option to connect to other speakers, and multiple devices.

The SoundBot SB571 has a well-rounded sound quality. It has two 40mm premium drivers, and a passive subwoofer, with a 12 watt power output. The battery life on it is slightly better than the JBL Flip 3, but this is not an ideal device if you plan to take it to areas where it may get wet because it has no water resistance. It lacks a few of the other features the JBL Flip 3 offers, but you may find that the SoundBot SB571’s sound quality (especially its bass) will sound exceptional, and can easily match if not exceed the jbl’s sound at a much lower cost.
